The music of nostalgia

This morning I was completely sapped of energy (I blame not drinking enough water and am now drinking like a camel) so when I got on the train I wanted to sleep, not read the last 50 pages of my book.

In times like these I find nostalgic music is best – I even have a special playlist in my iPhone called ‘Dunedin Times’ so I can listen to the music of my student days and pretend that wasn’t 18 years ago and I don’t now find a new grey hair most days.

Most of this music was introduced to me by my friend Chris. Somehow we both ended up in the party block at our hall of residence with the rugby heads who thought he was weird. I think the cool girls on my floor pretty much thought the same of me, which I’m pleased about.
