An update on the dahlias

Over the weekend I received an email from Belinda, a blog reader who’d recently visited Cornwall and found these amazing dahlias at The Eden Project. What I didn’t realise when I first saw these photos was that they’re all inside these huge bubbles – like some kind of futuristic growing environment.

The Eden Project looks amazing and quite unbelievable – kind of like a created paradise, which I guess is exactly what it is.

Meanwhile back on earth, my dahlias have sprouted out of the ground, which I’m really excited about. Now I’m wondering about weeding around them – how do I know what’s dahlia and what’s not? Helen’s dahlias are ready to flower (she planted hers much earlier than me) and I can’t wait to see them.

Helen’s also pinned a whole lot more dahlia porn on Pinterest lately.

I don’t think Johanna would be impressed with my foraging methods but i crunched into a bulb to taste what plant it was and i found that I have quite a few dahlia bulbs if you would like em ?

Why not? I could just chuck them in various places in the garden and see what happens. It might be too late for them but since they’re going I’ll happily take them. Thank you!
