I love a good April Fool

Yesterday was April Fools Day and I love a good gag. Growing up there was the time The Southland Times announced that Anderson’s Park Art Gallery was going to be painted bright pink or the time that a major airport was to be built in prized scenic rural land – cue an uproar both times.

At Art School the Speights Factory announced that today only they’d be running beer through their free-pure-water tap and queues formed quickly – my flatmate included.

You might have missed it but yesterday Google Maps reskinned their service to look like an old-school video game. It was super cool so we took a screen-shot of our house. If you’re quick you’ll be able to use the service today – just type in the address you want then hit ‘quest’ where the map options are.

What April Fools did you spot?

The Speights April Fools trick is my favourite ever! Nothing could top that.

For us older folk it was complicated enough with the daylight savings change and the right hand rule change without going out there and looking for more. Do love your house pic though. Could turn that into a tapestry which you could turn into a floor rug.

Occasionally when I’m out driving I remember the rule change but living in such a small town I think it could be years before I ever am in the situation to use it.
