The blue room

We’ve had some renovations done over the summer and now have three new rooms (plus the studio you’ve already seen).

We have a spare room (photos coming soon) that’s finished, another little room that’s not finished and a foyer area where we’ve put our new green formica table, which is used for eating and reading the paper at. It’s a small area but there’s a lot more wall than you can see in the photo. We’ve painted it bright green/blue – the colour in the photo is surprisingly accurate – with a paper light shade and a big blackboard across the doors of a huge cupboard wardrobe.

The only problem is that other rooms have names – kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, lounge – and this doesn’t. Any suggestions?

    breakfast nook?
becuase i always wondered what a nook was and now, clearly you can be the nook

Nook could be good although I feel it should be smaller to be a nook. Maybe not… if we get enough suggestions we can start a poll.

I quite liked foyer too Madz but someone said it had to be close to the front door to be a foyer – glad you agree with me that it doesn’t!

i guess a foyer is classically near the front door. … a nice wee meeting and greeting area i suppose (as opposed to our very functional but ugly laundry / bathroom / shoe shelf meeting and greeting front door) … but you could just screw classicness and call it a foyer anyway. …. or one of helen’s fantastic suggestions.

You could just call it the blue room. (No I’m not being funny!) We have a yellow room in our house – although I sometimes wish it wasn’t!

I would call it the Boardroom, because I think the blackboard is awesome and boardrooms are kind of multi-use rooms as well.

I’m liking the boardroom – sounds official! And the blue room is pretty practical. Wonder what Tom thinks… Emma.

I think that blue looks amazing, what good taste you two have! I thought of the activities room, although I must say that I like the Boardroom idea.

Activites room is good too – I really like that one. I think we should take a survey.
