Crumpet makes crumpets

Today Tom and I celebrate 11 years of wedded bliss. Coincidentally this is also the day that Tom decided he’d make us crumpets and poached eggs for lunch; in the theme of celebration we ate under the walnut tree and used the fancy tablecloth*.

We also had a little jam jar of homegrown flowers and weighted the tablecloth down with part of my crocheted stone collection. Some people would think there was no use for a crocheted stone and those people would be wrong.

The crumpets were out of this world – they tasted just like crumpets but were super fresh and fluffy and delicious. Here’s the proof…

*The fancy tablecloth was sent to me by someone (formerly a stranger) who I follow on Twitter. She’s also sent me fabric too – so kind and you can find her work here.

Those crumpets look so delicious. Which recipe did Tom use?

Congrats on your anniversary! We just celebrated 12 years in December. Unfortunately, as we’ve never bothered to get married we’ve forgotten the date to celebrate it….

Just beautiful…the photos, the sentiment…the crocheted stone (gasp I love it) You have got yourself a nice bit of crumpet Emma, and he with you! Couples who have such lovely rituals and date nights and laugh together, stay together.
